A new directory is shining a light on food and drink businesses in Torfaen.

Details of the Torfaen Good Food Directory were unveiled at this year's Food Summit at Greenmeadow Community Farm.

The guide features independent cafés, family farms, artisan producers, street food traders, and refill shops from across the borough.

Councillor Sue Morgan, executive member for sustainability and waste, said: "Friday's summit shows the power of partnerships in transforming how we grow, share and value food in Torfaen.

"The launch of the Good Food Directory is a great step forward - helping residents access local, affordable and sustainable food, and supporting the brilliant organisations who make that possible."

The summit, organised by Torfaen Council's food resilience team, had more than 200 attendees, including residents, primary school pupils, businesses, and community groups.

It showcased the achievements of the Torfaen Food Partnership and highlighted the positive impact of initiatives like the Torfaen Food Trails, which promote growing, cooking, and tasting events across the community.

Holly Ivany from Llantarnam Arts Grange Café said: "We've been working with the Food4Growth Team for some time now, and have gone from strength to strength with their support.

"The team are such a joy to work with, always supportive, always at the end of the phone for guidance, and we really appreciate being able to come along to events like the food summit to continue to be a part of the community that we've all built together."

Torfaen Food Partnership

The Good Food Directory is available to view and download online, and printed copies will be available at various locations across the borough including featured local businesses, community groups and libraries.

The Torfaen Food Resilience Programme, supported by £1,299,415 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, aims to increase the availability of locally produced, affordable food and develop sustainable, long‑term approaches to tackling food insecurity through the Torfaen Food Partnership.
