The Big Biscuit comfort breakfast and lunch chain is looking to make its break into Texas by finding a franchise partner in Beaumont.

Vice President of Franchise Growth Marita Swift told the Enterprise that Big Biscuit is actively searching for an experienced food and beverage franchise partner to bring the family-friendly daytime focused concept to Southeast Texas.

The Big Biscuit President and CEO Chad Offerdahl described the ways he thought Texas was a natural and logical next in their future goals.

"Communities across Beaumont value the same thing we do -- connection, hospitality and a breakfast restaurant to bring people together," Offerdahl said. "We're looking for experienced restaurant operators who share our passion for hospitality and community initiatives, who are committed to quality food and operational excellence."

Swift said Big Biscuit's catch phrase, "Don't mess with breakfast," would fit in well with a Texas consumer base raised on "Don't mess with Texas"

Beaumont Interim Economic Development Manager Miles Haynes encouraged the idea, saying he could see a place for Big Biscuit thriving locally.

"Beaumont is open for business," Haynes said April 17. "Our citizens like options for where to eat, and we think these kinds of opportunities are part of what makes the city grow."

Big Biscuit

Founded in Independence, Missouri in 2000, the brand opened its first franchise location in 2020 and has grown to 30 locations across Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. According to a statement released by the company, the Texas expansion for The Big Biscuit's regional growth strategy is supported by strong population growth and communities that value gathering over great food.

They said as they continue to grow the company is prioritizing thoughtful, multi-unit development with operators committed to building the brand for long term success.
