Milwaukee Burger Company's mission is to provide the ultimate Wisconsin experience in both the dining room and the bar.
With 52 TVs, Milwaukee Burger Company, 6421 S. 27th St., is very much a sports bar. "Packer games are pretty crazy, and this season, Brewers games have packed the bar, too," says Mikala Lindl, Milwaukee Burger Company's assistant general manager. "And we always have the sound on."
But it's the variety of options that really makes the Milwaukee Burger Company bar stand out.
Burger Company
The drink menu is lengthy, creative and loaded with Wisconsin nods and products. Current cocktails include The Greek Freak, Lake Michigan Punch, 414 Smash, Friday Night In Wisconsin, The Southsider, MKE Mojita and the Polar Plunge.
The Bloody Marys are also a huge draw, and are locally themed as well, including the Cheesehead and The MBC (Milwaukee Burger Company). All of the Bloodies are garnished with a pickle, cheese, celery, olives, beef stick, and lemon. And, of course, they are served with a chaser.
Every month, Milwaukee Burger Company offers a Bloody Of The Month. The current beast is The Big Mil, in honor of 414 Day. It's a whopping 64 ounces and loaded up with four sliders, two massive mozzarella sticks, seven jumbo onion rings and dipping sauces. The cost seems reasonable at $35.
"I've seen people take down the entire thing, but it's also very shareable," says Lindl.
Freak Lake Michigan Punch
The bar has 42 beers on tap, many of which are locally brewed. Spotted Cow is the house brew, and they also have beers from One Barrel (Door County), Eagle Park (Milwaukee), Lion's Tail (Wauwatosa), Lakefront (Milwaukee) and more. Lakefront is the Brewery of the Month for April, with five different beers available.
Long Island ice teas, boozy shakes, margarita flights, martinis and wine are also available. According to Lindl, the Passion Fruit and Guava Long Island is one of the bar's most popular cocktails.
Boozy shakes, all of which have vanilla vodka as the base ingredient, are also a hit with customers. The current menu features Brown Sugar Churro, The Morning Bell and Unicorn Boozy. (Hey, Thursday is National Unicorn Day!)
Milwaukee Burger Company is a Wisconsin chain that started in Eau Claire. Restaurants are also located in Appleton, Hudson, Kenosha, LaCrosse, Pleasant Prairie, and Franklin. Ironically, the Franklin location is the only one located in Milwaukee County despite the name.
Unicorn Boozy Hey Thursday
The bar is full-service, meaning anything can be ordered from the food menu and eaten at the bar. The most popular bar bites are wings, cheese curds (the size of golf balls) and smashburgers.
"Everything is made fresh every day, mostly from scratch," says Lindl. "Our burgers are never frozen."
Kids, as long as they are with their parents, of course, are invited to sit at the bar. "We're a family-friendly bar. This is Wisconsin after all," says Lindl.
Lindl says the biggest reason they see so many repeat customers and a routinely packed bar is also because of the service.
Lindl Our
"One of our mottos is 'say yes to our guest,'" says Lindl. "Our bartenders are super friendly and accommodating. Last week, one of our bartenders was stuffing blue cheese into olives because a customer asked for blue cheese olives. That's how we are here."
Milwaukee Burger Company's hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Follow Milwaukee Burger Company on Facebook and Instagram.
